One of the world’s most successful Formula 1 companies was setting up a new company to manufacture a new range of luxury sports cars and were looking for a partner to establish and manage the end to end aftermarket to ensure a premium level of service was consistently delivered to their customers wherever they are in the world. They appointed Unipart Logistics as their partner based on our deep manufacturing and engineering heritage and our proven expertise in managing complex supply chains on a global basis for a number of other premium vehicle manufacturers.
Unipart implemented its award winning Unipart Logistics System to manage the aftermarket system which ensures we can get any part to anywhere in the world under total process control. In addition, Unipart’s highly skilled team of supply chain specialists were appointed to set up and manage the aftermarket processes from supplier through to delivery to the retailers and to provide the physical warehousing infrastructure from its shared user facility in Coventry
All systems and processes were implemented on time and within budget ensuring a premium level of aftermarket service could be provided to their customers from day one after launch. Unipart introduced an industry leading measure of On Time In Full (OTIF) to provide an accurate view of the actual performance received by the retailers. This has been continuously improved such that in annual surveys all retailers are extremely satisfied with the service provided by Unipart, whilst from the client perspective inventory levels have reduced and aftermarket profitability significantly improved over the last three years.
