Bernard Molloy wins ‘Logistician of the Year Award’
Bernard Molloy, global industrial logistics director at Unipart Logistics, received one of the industry’s top accolades by being presented the ‘Logistician of the Year’ trophy at this year’s Automotive Supply Chain Global Awards.
Announcing the winner at a glittering event held at Claridges on 12th November, in front of 200 senior automotive executives, David Cardle of Frazer-Nash Associates said on behalf of the judges, “Bernard is a well known and much loved figure in the industry, he is described first and foremost as an inspiration. His passion, energy and commitment to innovation make him an ideal role model for aspiring Logisticians. He is attributed to making a meaningful contribution to the success of British business through his passion for making a difference to supply chains around the world.”
Receiving the ‘Logistician of the Year’ trophy Molloy said, “This is proud moment. I’m surprised, and of course delighted, to be recognised by my peers in this way. It’s a great honour, and a touching moment, to be applauded by such a strong representative gathering of the world’s automotive supply chain leaders.
“I believe passionately in the development of our sector, in building a workforce fit for the future needs of our global industry and I wholeheartedly support the many thousands of individuals who are striving every day to raise the standards of automotive logistics. I share this moment of recognition with those individuals,” he said.
Molloy has over 40 years experience managing and strategically advising companies in the warehousing, logistics and materials handling industries. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Chairman of the CILT’s Warehouse and Materials Handling Forum and is a Board Member of The British German Forum. Over his long career in the industry he has been Joint Group Managing Director of Lansing Linde – where over a five-year period market share increased from 19.5% to 33% – he was a member of the CBI Council, and has been a strategic advisor to JCB, Psion, NYK Logistics and Red Prairie. He is presently Global Industrial Logistics Director at Unipart Logistics and Chair of Liverpool City Region Superport Committee.
Unipart Logistic’s standing in the Automotive sector was recognised by three major industry awards in 2013. The Automotive Division took both the ‘Overall Winner’ trophy and the ‘Automotive, Aerospace and Defence Award’ at the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards, as well as the ‘Aftermarket Parts Logistics’ trophy at the Automotive Supply Chain Global Awards.
